Dr. Travis Light

PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Dr. Travis Light, the owner of Strive Sports Medicine PT, has a passion for helping athletes recover, and getting them back to playing quickly and safely.

Dr. Light is board certified in sports physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He is currently the only Physical Therapist both in the Salisbury area and on the entirety of Maryland’s eastern shore who holds this distinction.

Board Certified Sports clinical specialists provide specialized care to athletes, helping prevent injuries, manage conditions, and enhance athletic performance, often working alongside sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and other professionals.

Dr. Light was first inspired to become a physical therapist after attending PT after his mother had knee surgery. He recalls having excellent conversations with her PT, relating to organized sports and hockey. The PT discussed his profession with Dr. Light which ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Now, Dr. Light has experience working with the area’s high school and college athletes while practicing in an orthopedic PT clinic. He incorporates the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment methods in his multifaceted approach to treating the modern athlete. Not only that, but he’s one of the few physical therapists in the Salisbury area that is certified by the State of Maryland to practice dry needling

Dr. Light earned his BS in Health Sciences and Doctor of Physical Therapy Degrees at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. He’s a former NCAA athlete, ice hockey player, and multi-distance triathlete.

In his free time, Dr. Light likes to spend time relaxing with friends, traveling, and attending games at Salisbury University.

Dr. Brandon Alina

PT, DPT

Dr. Brandon Alina decided he wanted to become a physical therapist after shadowing a PT in high school. Dr. Alina remembers the impact the PT had on people from all different ages and demographics, helping each person to enhance their quality of life and achieve their personal goals.

Throughout his time in PT school, Dr. Alina developed a love for helping athletes return to sport, as well as helping active adults return to their active lifestyles, pain-free.

Since graduating with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in the Fall of 2023, Dr. Alina has developed a skill set to enhance function in all different patient populations. That skill set entails individualized exercise programs, therapeutic modalities, and a variety of manual therapy techniques, all of which are evidence-based treatment methods.

Dr. Alina earned his BS in Human Biology from SUNY Albany and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD. He is a former three sport high school athlete, including football, baseball and downhill skiing, and now he is an avid weight lifter.

In his free time, Dr. Alina likes spending time with his friends, exercising and watching football.
